The easiest way to test battery draw.

Amp Scanner was designed specifically for late model vehicles with advanced 12 volt electrical systems. These vehicles often have large numbers of computer modules that need to enter a "sleep" state to keep from draining the vehicle battery while parked. These modules can easily pull more than 10 amps until they are all asleep, which can take several minutes or even longer to happen. This makes testing for excessive draw tricky since most automotive multi-meters can not handle more than 10 amps, and disconnecting and re-connecting the battery will re-start the sleeping procedure. Even amp clamps don't help much as they are simply not accurate enough and are affected by background EMI, leading to false positives.

This is where Amp Scanner comes in. Simply disconnect the negative battery cable and connect Amp Scanner in series to measure all current going in or out of the battery. With a superior range of 0.02 - 100 amps, the engine can be started, driven, parked and locked without ever having to disconnect the Scanner. This is especially helpful when dealing with an intermittent parasitic draw. Amp Scanner can also be used to do basic checks on the starting and charging systems.

While Amp Scanner cannot tell you where the draw is coming from, it can be used to quickly and easily verify the presence of excessive draw or a normally operating vehicle. Stop using convoluted rigs and unreliable readings to test battery draw and do it the easy way with Amp Scanner.
